About
ICWVCD(International Conference and Workshop of the Visual Communication Design),主題設定從雲科大出發,對於設計議題的關懷與探索,藉由設計趨勢與探討,碰撞出理論與實務結合的新發現。 (The Virtual and Realistic Communication of Visual Design)」、 2022 年「時間的軌跡(Track of Time)」、 2023 年「解構與重構之後(After the Deconstruction and Reconstruction)」, (The Interdependence of Emptiness and Substance)」, 延續歷屆主題的深度與廣度,2025 年研討會以「五色相宣」(Mutual Enhancement of Five Colors)為題,探討視覺設計如何於多樣性的融合中找尋平衡,並嘗試以色彩為本,作為 過往傳統、當代文化以致未來社會科技變遷的回應。
The Department of Visual Communication Design of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology has been hosting the International Conference and Workshop of the Visual Communication Design ICWVCD since 2019. The theme setting starts from Yunlin University of Science and Technology, and the concern and exploration of design issues, through design trends and discussions, collides with new discoveries combining theory and practice. From "Culture and Communication" in 2019, "Tradition and Innovation" in 2020, "The Virtual and Realistic Communication of Visual Design" in 2021, "Track of Time" in 2022, "After the Deconstruction and Reconstruction" in 2023, and "The Interdependence of Emptiness and Substance" in 2024, the symposium continues the depth and breadth of previous themes. The 2025 symposium is themed "Mutual Enhancement of Five Colors", exploring how visual design can find a balance in the integration of diversity, and trying to use color as basis as a response to past traditions, contemporary culture and future social and technological changes.
Main theme
The theme of this conference is "Five Colors Interplay", which is taken from the "Book of Song: Biography of Xie Ling Yun" which says "The five colors complement each other, and the eight kinds of music flow harmoniously. This is because they follow the law of color in nature and the law of temperament, each of which conform to the characteristics of things". It means that colors complement each other, showing a sense of beauty of hierarchy and harmony. In the field of literature, " Mutual Enhancement of Five Colors " is also used to describe gorgeous and varied language. In addition to continuing the past focus on visual communication design, this conference further focuses on the application and research of color. It is hoped that through the exchange of different design viewpoints, the research of various sub-topics will stimulate each other and present rich and diverse academic results.
Since 2019, ICWVCD has continued to promote the interaction between academic and design practice. Dialogue and thinking promote cooperation and innovation in the field. This conference not only invited top scholars from Taiwan and Japan to discuss the relationship between design and color, but also actively applied for Scopus abstract and citation database, hoping to enhance the visibility of research through international academic platforms, expand the academic foundation of the field of visual design, and increase the willingness and content level of submissions. This conference was hosted by the Department of Visual Communication of Yunnan University of Science and Technology and supported by the Taiwan Institute of Kansei and the Taiwan Society of basic design and art. Guidance and support, providing a deeper foundation for academic exchanges.
